News from the JCK Show, Las Vegas

Hello All!

Karen here at JCK in Las Vegas. The Ganoksin booth has been well
received by interested jewelers and metalsmiths wanting to know more
about our community. What a treat to see some Orchidians who stop
by and say hello. Rio Grande has generously donated booth space to
Orchid. AJM is sponsoring the “Live at the Bench” demonstrations.
Topics ranging from flex-shaft tricks to safety tips were covered in
the first two days.

Last night, Charles Lewton-Brain and I were invited to the Saul Bell
Award dinner hosted by Rio Grande. Meeting the award recipients and
seeing the work first hand, was the highlight of the evening. Three
of the award winners were at our table and we exchanged lively
conversation on art promotion, and how art is literally “hard wired”
into humans. Not only were the exceptional metal and bead creations
original, the Saul Bell Award is changed, as the design is
commissioned by a different artist year. On behalf of Charles and
myself, thank you Rio for giving us the honor to participate in this
wonderful event.

The Ganoksin booth will be at JCK through Monday. If you haven’t
had a chance to stop by, please do!

Booth 62601.
