New uses for Jettset

Now don’t laugh at me, but I have found a unique and new use for
Jettset.

Background: For years, my wife and I have put up a fake Christmas
tree…it always looked nice and we only paid the price once. We
recently rearranged our living room and decided this year we would
put up only a small tree…in fact, I suggested (and she agreed) we
use only the top of the man-made tree…it was about 3 ft high and
nice and full.

Problem: The problem was how to stand it up as only a 1/4 inch steel
wire stuck out the botton below the man-made branches. I thought we
might be able to use the original tree stand that came with the tree
but, alas, the hole was 1". How to hold that 1/4 inch wire in a 1"
hole?

Solution: Jettset of course. I warmed a ball of it, pushed it into
the hole waited a few minutes till it cooled a bit and pushed the
wire part of the tree top into it. Pulled it back out and let it
cool completely. After about 15 minutes I plugged it back in and
whalla…custom tree stand!

Happy holidays to all of you out there in Orchid land. May your
wheels cut easily, your solder flow perfectly and your polisher
magically get into all those little nooks and crannies. Cheers from

today and where simple elegance IS fine jewelry! @coralnut1
