[New Orchid Gallery] Pamela Timm

Pamela Timm

I initially started making jewelry by learning how to work with
molten glass, by creating beads with Italian glass. This evolved into
learning about the metal arts of soldering – specifically silver.
The love for both mediums of glass and metal inspired me to learn
enameling techniques of Cloisonne and Champleve. When asked which
of these skills is my favorite, I simply respond, “The one I am
currently working with.” Because the fabrication process is so
uniquely different for all three, I rotate my focus on skill sets
every so often to keep my ideas/creativity fresh. One key element in
my ornaments is movement – whether it be in motion or color. I am a
continual student and thrive with learning/adopting new techniques.
