I am a master Filigree-worker, making the jewellery to be worn with
the Norwegian national costumes. All my pieces are fully hand-made,
no cast parts. I twist, braid and flatten the wire myself. I melt
silver balls in many sizes, I make all the little details by
hand, the coils, the stacks, the flower shaped details, before I
solder them together in traditional patterns, -but with my own
“twist”.
I have been working with this for more than 30 years, and I am
adamant about the importance of keeping up the old goldsmithing
techniques. I have had apprentices at my studio for more than 20
years. In the spring of 2014 I took my Master of Arts in Folklore
and Traditional Arts.
