Louise Perrone creates sculptures and wearable art, employing
materials such as aluminum, precious metals and alternative media to
explore ideas about beauty, identity and the power of elegance. She
lives and works in Vancouver, Canada, where she works out of her
studio at Object Design Gallery. She is also represented by Mobilia
Gallery of Cambridge, MA, and is exhibited both nationally and
around the world.
The Language of Flowers
The Language of Flowers is an ongoing series of metal brooches based
on the Victorian code that was employed in fashionable circles to
convey otherwise forbidden thoughts and emotions. I have used
anodized aluminum for its colour and very light weight, allowing me
to create large pieces which are still wearable.
