Neutralizing ammonia smell

I use ammonia in sawdust for patination. How can I dispose of it
afterwards? Is there a way of neutralising the ammonia?

TIA,

Hi Laura,

To neutralize ammonia, just add a weak acid like vinegar.

Ammonia is actually a gas suspended in water. Just leave it alone &
it will turn back into a gas.

I think that you can use the ammonia soaked sawdust as mulch in your
garden. The Ammonia should just be a little extra fertilizer. Anyway
that’s what I do.

I dump it into my composter. Eventually it ends up in my rose and
herb beds.
