I have collect some beautiful nephrite jade and chrysoprase rough material and
learning to cab it.
Would you tell me :
How to polish nephrite and chrysoprase?
What polishing material to be use will better?
What is the criteria?
Please help me ,since I can’t polished it well. Especially nephrite jade, I got
bad result in polishing.

I’ve polished chrysoprase few times. The result was absolutely amazing.
First, I have to say that I’ve cut it with a facetting machine, using a 400
and 600 grit lap. I did it like an oval’s crown and, always using the
facetting machine, I gently rounded the girdle’s and facet’s edges by hand,
with a 600 and 1200 grit lap, to obtain a perfect oval shape and a perfect
dome. Secondly, I polished the cab by hand with a Spectra Lap. I obtained
a superb luster, like if water was flowing over it.

I have had good results using 1500 emery paper as a prepolish and 50000 dia
on a polypad

Are you unhappy at that this discussion is taking place here? Or is it
that you do not know what Nepherite Jade or Chrysoprase is??? I do not
understand what you are after or what it is you are unhappy with or what
ever…
