Been using Rio Grande for years (~$25K a year) due to convenience but last week I ordered a bunch of sterling silver when spot was ~$55oz. They sent the wrong silver. When I called they said I have to return the wrong order first buy at CURRENT price of $65oz to get what I order! Essentially charging ME over $500 for THEIR mistake!
Considering contacting my bank since I paid for an order which I did not receive and they refuse to fulfill…
Try calling Rio back and talking with a manager about it first. Be nice and tell them your side. Ask them to review it. If that doesn’t work, yeah, call the bank.
Oh yeah! I’ve been super nice and completely understand the agents who answer the phone do not make policy.
At this point I’ll keep the wrong order, it’s useful metal just not what I ordered. I just want MY order fulfilled at the spot price I paid for it…
But still would be interested in options as this should be a no brainer for a long time customer. I’ve probably spent half $Million++ in the past 30 years with Rio and don’t like being ignored about an obvious mistake they made. It’s been a couple days since they said a supervisor from the right department would call me back in a couple hours…

I am pretty sure that Rio Grande monitors this discussion board and it would be nice if they posted and explained their policy regarding pricing in a very volatile market in response to your post. If they really screwed up your order, they need to make it right…Rob
