[NC] Possible workshop on lost-wax casting

I have been offered the opportunity to use the facilities of
Wildacres Retreat near Asheville, NC to teach a workshop on lost-wax
casting in April. The available time slot is five days and four
nights of April 22-26, 2013. This is rather short notice and I hope
that this message will enable me to quickly determine whether there
is enough interest to reserve the classroom and bedrooms.

The workshop will be based on my book *Lost-Wax Casting: Old, New, and Inexpensive Methods. *The material covered will be oriented
primarily on casting technique although either commercial waxes or a
simple ring design project may be chosen for casting models. The book
is available on Amazon where you can use the “Look Inside” feature to
get an idea of how I approach the topic. Discounted copies of the
book will be available to all attendees. Equipment and available
supplies usually limit class size to 8 students.

Further about the Wildacres Retreat may be obtained by
visiting their web site at www.wildacres.org. The cost for room,
board, and the workshop will be about $300 (double occupancy) plus a
lab fee that will cover the cost of supplies and a copy of the book,
if desired.

I am a retired university professor who has taught similar workshops
at retreats in Georgia and North Carolina for the Southeast
Federation of Mineralogical Societies and the Eastern Federation of
Mineral and Lapidary Societies.

Fred you are just everywhere

Like I said on the other list, I would love to be able to come. If
you ever travel to Australia for workshops, I’ll be in that
