Munich jewellery attractions

Dear all,

I am travelling to Munich in October. Could someone please recommend
any jewellery attreactions, galleries as well as jewellery stores for
findings/tools/beads and all those other wonderful things that we
can’t resist.

Many thanks
Felicity from West Oz.

I don’t have the addresses, but you can probably look them up before
you travel. Some of the must-see’s in no particular order:

Galerie Isabella Hundt
Galerie Spektrum
Galerie Tal
Galerie BirF
Galerie Wittenbrink
Bayerischer Kunstgewerbeverein

The museum “Pinakothek der Moderne” shows jewellery from time to
time. But it’s worth it in any case. You should visit it.

There is a shopping guide that is available for free in the
participating shops. Check for “Goldschmied” or “Schmuck”. I highly
recommend this, there are jewellers hidden about everywhere in
Munich and you can build jewellery-tours around the entries. Some
are heRe: www.munich-shopping-guide.de/jewelry.htm

I would recommend to see at least Angela Hubel for her own work and
Artefakt for their range of choice. When you go to Artefakt, you
have Goldnase and Hillmann’s in the same street. When you see Angela
Hubel, you have Isabella Hundt and Bayerischer Kunstgewerbeverein
right around the corner. What I am trying to say is, that Munich is
a small city and very dense with it’s attractions.

When hungry and you want to relax, go to the self-service restaurant
at the Gasteig. Not typically bavarian, but a nice place with good
food for all tastes.

Enjoy your stay!

If there’s one thing you shouldn’t miss, it’s the Danner Stiftung at
the Pinakothek der Moderne (very close to the aforementionned
jewelry galleries). See: The Danner Rotunda – Jewelry Arts in the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich curated by Karl Fritsch | VernissageTV Art TV Or google “Danner
rotunda”
