Wendy—My 28 years of experience has proven most of these ruby
stones are synthetic about 97%----and the culet is cut flat like
old European-cut of diamonds.But I suppose your gemologist did
check it out. A lot of times you can find these stones very
inexpensive at pawn shops or some antique shops…although the
pawn is usually best price. Before I take these stones in to
reset–if the customer is reluctant to believe that “their
antique ring couldn’t possibly be synthetic”—I have them check
with another gemologist.Let me know if customer expects you to
