Moonstone polish

I am doing a repair on a Peach color Moonstone Sterling Silver Ring.
This Ring has obviously been worn often. The Peach Moonstone has
lost it’s shine on top & I am wondering how to give it a final
polish. I don’t have any lapidary equipment per se, but do have the
usual Jeweler’s equipment. I want to return the Ring to it’s owner,
not only repaired but with a nice shiny stone also.

Tin oxide is a good way. Use a flex shaft felt wheel and some water
make a paste and polish the stone keeping the wheel wet and cool
along the way. This should do the trick but it won’t be immediate.
It takes some persistence but the shine should return.-T
