I have this 300 lb casting machine for sale from my friend’s estate. It comes with an Orca propane/air torch and several flasks and crucibles. It has a capacity of 465 grams of metal, but can also be used for lesser amounts of silver or gold. If you are interested or know anyone who might be, let me know. I hate to send this to the scapyard, but it has to be out of its present location within a few weeks. It is pickup only in Knoxville TN. Thanks! -royjohn
That is a wonderful casting machine. Was going to build one as I couldn’t afford the new one. Then I found one at auction. I cast almost everything with it, silver, gold, bronze. Sometimes only 10 to 20 DWT. Other times up to couple hundred DWT. I have a couple Jelrus and a vertical Platinum caster but I like this one the best. The caster has a timer and brake on it which I never use. The machine is still sold new for well over $2000
Hi Dave,
Yes, I agree it’s a nice item…I don’t really do casting at present and my workshop is too small for this item, or I’d consider keeping it myself. I should also have indicated: “no reasonable offer refused”…in fact, any offer gratefully accepted…LOL. If you have the room for this…it’s about 30 inches square…and like centrifugal, it’s great. Yes, it has a timer that goes up to about 60 seconds. You play the torch over the crucible to melt, pull the torch away and close the lid. As soon as the lid closes, the clutch starts the spin immediately automatically. No possibility of splashing on you, no spring to release. Cool, right?
