Modern Jeweler article on synthetic diamonds

There is a good article in the latest Modern Jeweler on how created
yellow diamonds are finding their way into parcels of natural yellow
diamonds, about one in ten. The article mentions a way of testing to
determine whether loose or set yellow diamonds are created. Although
created diamonds are conflict free, in this case perhaps they are not
if you buy and sell without disclosure, according to FTC guidelines,
whether you know or don’t know, you are liable. There was also info
on a treatment done to tanzanite to enhance color that can be removed
with a solvent. Which solvent was not mentioned but I believe it
mentioned that the gem lab that made the discovery would share the
info.
