Microscope Recommendation wax carving

Hello!

Does anyone have a recommendation for a microscope for wax carving? If I could find it on amazon that would be a plus. I’m wondering if finding one with a LCD screen view would be best for my neck and eyes. Does anyone have experience with one of these?

Would love to hear your thoughts.

Hi,

so, are optivisors or craftoptics type glasses not an option?

Hi

I love the VEVOR Micro Inlaid Mirror Multi-Directional Microscope. It is very powerful and affordable compared to Leica (I think it’s around $300). I’ve used it for about a year and haven’t had any problems.

Microscopes with monitors have some latency, so I wouldn’t recommend an LED screen as your only way of viewing your work.

I was going to say the same thing. Plus the Vervor microscope is available on Amazon, which is what you asked for.

Here is a fairly recent thread about the Vervor scope. One thing to note is that this scope doesn’t come with light. That’s kind of imperative. There’s info in the thread about microscope lights.

Meiji and Leica microscopes seem to have the best reputation in the jewelry world, but they’re $2500ish, so a lot more money.

Working under a microscope takes a bit of practice, but once you do, they’re almost miraculous.

Finally, this is a common question in the forum. Here’s a page with lots of other threads.

Best of luck!!
