If I use my steam machine, the wax melts and flows over the diamonds and makes a supreme mess. Does anybody know of a solvent which will disolve wax, or can anybody suggest another method of removing the wax?
From the old lab class, when we were making biology slides the wax
solvent was XYLENE. One cheap and convenient source is the solvent
used for thinning two part epoxy automotive paints (check the label).
The trade calls it by some other fancy name, maybe “developer,”
instead of calling it solvent or thinner.
