Melting sterling silver

I have some sterling silver jewelry that I would like to melt down
and reuse. I only have a Blazer butane torch with a temperature
range of 1300 to 2500 degrees. Could anyone give me some information
on how to do this? I havea square of fireproof material that I use
when I torch my copper pieces.

Thanks,
Carolyn

Hi Carolyn,

Depending on your plans you may need a small crucible as well. I am
not familiar with your torch but you may need more of heat producer
as well. A small torch may produce enough heat but not enough flame.
I think I’d take your question to google as well and see if there
isn’t a YouTube film to watch.
