Mass media finishing question

Hi Orchidians:

I am new to mass media finishing (I have Judi’s book) but still have
a question. I have a vibratory tumbler setup with medium, fine, and
polishing media. My question is this: to what grit do I have to sand
my jewelry before I put it in the tumbler with the medium media? I
want a high polish out of the process if that matters.

process if that matters. Usually 600 to 800. It depends on detail.
Sometimes I go finer.
