Maple Leaf Stamp

Hi Everyone, I am looking for a stamp of a maple leaf. I just found
out from my supplier he can no longer get the stamps Grobet has in
their catalogue (mine is probably very old). Rio has a set of 40
which includes the maple leaf but I really only need the one. They
don’t break sets; I already called. It is for a very small custom job
so having one made is out of the question.

Anyone know of a supplier who sells these stamps individually? Or
does anyone out there have one they would be willing to
sell/rent/lend?

Thanks,
Laurie

Hello Laurie

A supplier here in Calgary has that stamp, and if I remember
correctly it sells for $12.00 Canadian. I just bought a couple of
other stamps from them as I already have the maple leaf. They can be
reached at 'Komarevich Originals Ltd., 1510 - 7th Street S.W.,
Calgary, Alberta, T2R 1A7, Canada. Phone (403) 244-3244.

Hope this helps.

Good morning Laurie,

I bought stamps off Ebay from Joe Rollings, he has a maple leaf.
Here is his link. http://www.thingswestern.com

You may want to try contacting Joe Rollings at
http://www.thingswestern.com/ He makes beautiful hand ground stamps.
He does not list a maple leaf, but because they are hand done me may
be able to make one for you. We carry his stamps in our store and
people love them.

Related items that I’d like to find are small cutters for wax- or
sculpey, or PMC, that are different kinds of leaves. I’ve found some
sets of basic shapes in the sculpey department of craft stores, and
have been able to do some modification of less used shapes into oak
and ivy leaves, but I’d really like to find some others.

Try looking at leather tooling stamps. They should mold sculpey
quite nicely, and can be quite detailed. Any web search for leather
craft tools will net you several sites. The Leather Factory/Tandy
leather is the first one I can think of without digging.

I have a set of 5 different leaf cutters(ginko, maple etc.). that I
bought in Japan. They use them for cutting vegetable garnishes and
for confectionary cutouts. They are quite beautiful and about 1" or
so each and would work fine for PMC. I believe you can get them in
the US at a fine cookware shop like Williams-Sonoma or try on line
at Bridge kitchewares in NYC. Good luck . Mark Sanne

Hello Janet Have you tried leather stamps? I sometimes even use them
on silver and copper.
