Making paddle shaped head pins?

Does anyone know how to do this…or is it only possible with a
machine?

if you mean what I think you do, a head pin where the end looks a bit
like a tiny spoon, only not a concave bowl, it’s easy. Ball up the
end of a piece of wire, then put the ball into a pair lf flat pliers
(right next to the joint at the base of the jaws for extra power),
with just the ball in the jaws, and the wire extending out to the
side. crush the ball with the pliers, and the result will be a wire
with this little flat round disk or paddle shape on the end. Is that
what you were thinking?

I take a sterling wire, and hammer one end flattening it. I then file
it giving it a nice paddle shape.

Yes that one I can do but what about the diamond shaped one?

Trish

Trish, For a diamond shaped paddled, just file it into a diamond
shape. Should not be any more difficult than filing into a rounded
paddle shape.
