(gold was 35 $/oz then ) here are some thoughts. in today’s $$
climate if you want to get bummed take a look at bidz.com and you
will see what CAD designed, Asian set and bulk sales have done to
jewelry market. Finlay, Friedman’s etc etc. are kaput 1) gallery
sales eat up too much % 2) wholesaling too much work for return 3)
craft fairs need a strong commitment, a sleep in RV and energy of a
hummingbird so what’s a jeweler to do?
