Magnetic Clasps and pacemaker

I apoligize if this has been covered before, and I missed an
explanation on it. I have heard that magnetic clasps should not be
used on jewelry because of possible “danger” to the user if she has
a pacemaker. I suspect, however, that it would take a magnet with
stronger power to interrupt a pacemaker, but I’m not sure. Has
anyone researched this?

Thanks,
Donna

Hi Donna,

If you check your catalogs where the magnetic clasps are sold I’ll
bet you’ll find a note warning that these should not be worn by those
who wear a pacemaker. Also, you have to take care when working with
computer disks as a magnet can erase from them as well!
