[Looking4] Large Chrysacolla slab

Hi, all-

I have a wonderful customer who, each year for her husband’s
birthday, orders a belt buckle with an enormous rectangular cab. I
scan pics of slabs which meet her criteria, she picks one for me to
cab, and I cut it and make the belt buckle.

This year, She wanted blue/green. She selected a nice slab of
chrysacolla, I cut a beautiful rectangular cab approximately 2 5/8"
by 1 3/4", and custom made a buckle of sterling. Set the stone
therein, and was ready to ship.

Because I now have a day job, I asked someone to handle the packing
shipping for me. They accidentally dropped the belt buckle on the
floor, and shattered the cab.

I have no comparable chrysacolla rough or slabs which would cut a
cab of equal size. My customer was enamored of the vivid blues and
greens in the original slab. Do any of you know of a source for large
chrysacolla slabs? I have looked on Ebay without success.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune, bummer!

You might try color-wright.com. They handle slabs, faceting rough,
mineral samples & lots of other things for the lapidary & mineral
collector. If you cant find what you’re looking for on the site, an
email to Rob (the owner) at rk@color-wright.com might help.

Usual disclaimers, just a friend & acquaintance.
