[Looking4] Jewelry exhibition and gallery grants

Hi,

I am on the exhibition committee of the Art Center Sarasota. We
have a long history in our community of displaying local, national
and international fine art and providing fine art education. I am
working on a proposal to broaden the work we show to include art
jewelry. As part of the proposal, I am researching grants that are
specifically for non-profit exhibition spaces (galleries, museums,
arts centers) interested in exhibiting art jewelry.

An example of the kind of funding opportunity we would need to begin
to show jewelry is Art Jewelry Forum’s Jewelry Exhibition Award:

Since 2005, AJF has been funding exhibitions as part of its aim to
advocate for contemporary art jewelry through education, appreciation
and support for the field. AJF believes that exhibitions and catalogs
are an essential part of the contemporary art jewelry infrastructure,
by documenting history, fostering curatorial skills, providing
opportunities for writing about contemporary art jewelry and
educating the wider public as well as those already engaged with the
practice. (AJF Website)

Does anyone know of other grants like this? Any other ideas to help
us develop this new opportunity for jewelry artists?

Thanks, Susan
