Looking for manufacturer

B"H

I have sent messages about this to the group before, but I’m not
more specific about what I’m looking for…

I have gone back to doing some of my work on my own (I’m a designer
– but I was trained in working with silver). I long ago disposed of
my equipment (it took up too much room and I was moving to a smaller
space). But I went to the city and bought some wax and did a couple
molds which I sent to a caster. But because I don’t have any
equipment anymore, I’m looking for someone who can take my castings
and polish them up, remove the sprews (there are sprew stumps that
the caster cut down but didn’t remove totally), soften some of the
sharp edges and make sure that the piece is flat (what can I say?
wax bends easily

Anyone out who can work with me? My preference is someone in Central
NJ, next NYC, then eastern seaboard US, then anywhere in the US
(proximity to NJ being a deciding factor but not necessarily the only
deciding factor). I prefer inexpensive, since my goal is to resell
the pieces.

I also might need some stone setting (probably of small cabachon
stones).

Good morning, Debbie,

We are a small casting company in Maine and we do work for artists
anywhere from California to Wisconsin east. We ship UPS and so
proximity is not a problem.

We cast all kinds of gold and silver jewelry for jewelers, and
provide finishing services from sprue cutting to fabrication. Stone
setting is also available.

Most all of the work we do is for jewelers who then wholesale.

While we are not the cheapest company, our work is well above
standard quality. You are welcome to send us a piece to see what we
can do. If you do not like our work, you do not have to pay us.

Feel free to call me or my husband, John Kipp, to discuss your
needs.

Thanks very much,

Phyllis,

I may have another client for you, but you did not give out your
phone number. I would love to call you or John to discuss this. You
may also contact me off list, if you wish.

There are a lot of casters who will finish your work as part of the
process–so you send them a wax and get a salable product. You’d
have to ask a particular caster what the charge would be, but it
might be cheaper, in the final analysis, than sending pieces back and
forth to several places.

I don’t want to mention anyone in particular without checking with
that business first–so let me know if you’d like me to do that. You
can contact me off-site if you like.
