Greetings all. I tumbled my first piece yesterday (a Byzantine
chain), and it came out beautiful. However, i would like to know if
tumbling a lobster claw clasp is safe for the clasp; will it ruin
the mechanism inside or anything?
Also, anybody know where i can get a 1/8" diameter rod suitable for
wire-wrapping?

A knitting needle, but I don’t have the chart with me to tell you
just which size.

ogiwan, Just close the Lobster clasp and tumble away. No problems at
all.
As for the dowel, go to any Home Improvement Store, they have a
large assortment of dowels in many sizes.
Have fun,
Terrie

Hello ogiwan,
Lobster clasps tumble just fine. As to the rod, look at
http://www.conniefox.com under supplies. She has mandrels for wire
wrapping. Have fun!

That’s about a size 3 knitting needle. If I did the math right.

Most any hardware store will have metal shafting in that diameter,
usually in 1 & 3 ft lengths.
