Let's all go to school!

When doing any gold repairs or fabrication your choice of
solders is critical. One useful tip I can share is to know
exactly where your solders come from. Many are just distributed
and renamed. Note the exact temperatur e range they solder flows
at. Hard solders range from about 1550-1600 degrees fahrenheit
down to approximately 700 degrees fahrenheit. Within those
temperatures the solders are labeled hard, medium, easy and
extra easy. Write the temperatures down on your solder
containers with a source note with their origin. Now heres the
tip. Shop different brand solder manufacturers and you can fill
the temperature gaps and have several different temperature
ranges. This has helped me out tremendously when I’ve had
multiple pieces to assemble. More on solder to come.
