Lead solder decontamination

I have recently taken in a repair job where one ring has been lead
soldered inside of another ring. The customer wants to have the
outside ring refinished including a new shank.

I have the rings in a pickle solution but my question – is there
any way to speed the decontamination process?

One way to dissolve lead solder given to me old timer is to take 4oz
20% hydrochloric acid and add 1/2 oz ferris chloride, worked great
for me many times.

Good luck

I have always removed lead with muriatic (hydrochloric) acid. Try
to use it outside. The fumes tend to rust things inside.
