Kumihimo braids


Please, could you tell me what is Kumihimo braids? I would like

Kumihimo braids are these beautiful japanese braids (other
cultures have similiar type of braids too). They are usually made
from silk. If you do a seach on the net for “kumihimo” you can
find some really nice examples to look at.



Japanese style of braiding using a Mauradi Loom. A multitude of
patterns can be established using bobbins, silk thread and
following manipulation of the bobbins produces and rope like
braid or flat braid. Can be incorporated into jewelry as the
"chain" for pendants,etc. RW
