Koil Kutter vs jump Ringer

What are the advantages of the Koil Kutter over the Jump Ringer? Is
there really a difference? I’ve used the Jump Ringer for a number of

For me, there are several advantages. The Koil Kutter, mounted on a
Dermel, is a comfortable hand held tool with only a power cord
connecting it to anything else. I leave it mounted on the Dremel so
it is always available. It is light and easily portable. I teach a
lot of chain classes and the fact that I don’t have to also lug a
flex shaft around is a big plus. I bought my first Koil Kutter in
the early 2000’s and it is still the main one in my studio. I bought
two more a couple of years ago that reside in my teaching tool box
so I don’t have to unpack it between classes; one for my use in class
to cut student rings and one for the students to try so they don’t
accidentally mess up the one I use. I use a Dremel Model 400 because
it is the most powerful Dremel I’ve found.

Cheers.
