Dear Everybody (and Judy if you are reading this message),

I would very much like to purchase a copy of Judy Hoch’s book,
Tumble Finishing For Handmade Jewelry: Mass Finishing On A Small Scale. Unfortunately I am having a difficult time locating an online source.

I have consulted The Jeweler’s Selected Bibliography on the Ganoksin
web site, but did not find it there because Amazon doesn’t carry the
book. (The Bibliography is basically an affiliate storefront for
Amazon.) I have also searched the Barnes and Noble web site to no
avail. Metalliferous doesn’t carry the book. Though I am looking
for online sources, I will be in New York City next week and could
visit a supplier there in person.

I even wrote directly to Judy at the email address listed on her web
site, but did not receive an answer. Judy, if you are reading this,
can I purchase the book directly from you?

All suggestions gratefully appreciated!

Thank you very much, Hanuman, for your suggestions. Unfortunately it
is not possible to purchase the book at Judy’s web site. That page
only describes the book.

Judy: perhaps you could add some links to suppliers on that page?

Rio Grande is not a good option for me as their catalog is not
online. I live in Spain. There is not enough time to request a paper
catalog from them by mail before placing an order. I will be in New
York from June 22 to July 4. Ideally I would like to order the book
online immediately and have it shipped to my New York address.
Alternately, I could visit a supplier in New York and buy it in
person.

Rio Grande is not a good option for me as their catalog is not

Hello Daniela,

I live in Paris and ordered Judy’s book from Rio. It arrived in about
a week. The Rio order number for the book is 550-774, US$11.95.

You can call or email Rio with that number and they’ll take it from
there. You can also request the catalogues at that time and I think
you’ll get them for free.

It’s really no trouble ordering from Rio. I have done it many times.

Rio Grande has it ( Tumble Finishing for Handmade Jewelry by Judy
Hoch). The order number is 550-774 (page 495 in 2005 Tools and
Equipment catalog) and it is the fourth edition. The cost is $11.95.
There number is 1-800-545-6566. Hope this helps.

Daniela - Mea culpa – I had several emails about the book and I
missed responding to you. I’m sorry.

For all - the book is carried by - Rio Grande, Gesswein, Otto Frei,
Elaine Luther. Amazon wants quite a bit of money quarterly up front
to carry self published books. I’d rather keep it affordable so you
need to purchase it from a jewelry supplier. I also sell it
directly, but am not as reliable as the big guys, as you have noted.
