Johnson's Paste Wax

I have my students use Johnson’s paste wax on all metals to help
minimize oxidation. I have recently seen it at both Ace Hardware and
Lowe’s. Other paste waxes work as well, such as Trewax. Renaissance
wax is, perhaps, the best as it is a micro crystalline wax
formulated for preservation. However, it is about $25 for what would
cost about $3 Johnson’s.

Also, it is important that the surface of the metal be completely
clean before waxing, as any fingerprints or other oils on the metal
before waxing will still oxidize.

Good luck!

I, too, have used Johnson’s Paste Wax with good success. However,
lately I’ve been using Turtle Wax, Super Hard Shell Car Wax, and it
also works great. So if you can’t find Johnson’s or Tre Wax in your
area, you might be able to find the Turtle Wax.

Turtle Wax 2000…

Supposed to protect car finish for 1 year… Gooey/creamy stuff
this…so you can get it into any/everywhere…

Rinse after use…brush with toothbrush and then buff with soft
cloth…
