Job opportunity to learn mokume and more

Hi All, I have an interesting job opportunity for the right person,
probably a young one. Steve Midgett is one of the best mokume
makers in the US, has a great book and video, just accepted into
the ‘Rising Stars’ section at JCK Las Vegas (2000 applicants, 7
chosen)

And Thank you too to those who emailed my Premier and education
minister to try and save our jewlery program. Every little bit
helps:)

Best

Charles

Here is a letter Steve sent to me:

I am looking for energetic, creative, dependable people who would
like to be a part of my growing business. We work as a team and
each person’s input is ncouraged and valued. Schedules are flexible
and while we will be focusing on a “production line” there are
guaranteed to be many creative aspects to the job and many
learning opportunities in the shop and office. Well developed
general jewelry skills are essential and specific skills, such as
precision fabrication, stone setting and casting are desired. If
you have computer skills (internet or graphic arts) all the better.
Of course any mokume experience is very important. Starting wages
will depend on your experience and I will need to have a two year
commitment from workers.

My shop is located just outside Franklin, NC which is a beautiful
area of the Southern Appalachian mountains inside the Nantahala
National Forest. This area is renowned for its excellent hiking,
camping and whitewater boating. We are 1 hour from Asheville and
only 2 hours and 15 minutes from Atlanta.

If you or a friend are interested in this opportunity, please call
or send a resume to sm@mokume.com. We1ll set up a time for you to
visit if possible, and further explore your future with the
Earthshine team.

If you know of anyone that might fit the bill please pass this on.

Cheers,

Steve
