Finally we have a couple of employment needs for bench jewelry
professionals. I know it’s been a long 12 to 18 months in the jobs
arena for jewelers. We have sure felt the pinch in the recruiting
business, as I know many others have.
First, one client has asked for help in locating stonesetters. This
company is a major manufacturer of fine high-end jewelry located in
the northeast U.S. Must have the ability to set stones to high
quality standards, with at least five years experience in prong and
pave setting. Must also be very detail oriented and very accurate in
all setting jobs. Company offers a hourly pay rate of $20 to $22+,
excellent health insurance program, 401K with company matching, paid
vacations, a retirement pension, and overtime hours available at the
employee’s discretion.
Second, a long-standing high-end retail jewelry store is in need of
a top flight custom manufacturing jeweler. This individual must be a
proven professional with multiple years of experience in wax
carving, finish work, stone setting, and be comfortable working with
platinum. This is a company that only hires top talent, but are
willing to pay $60,000 to $75,000+ to the right candidate. They are
located in New Jersey (not too far from NYC), and ready for us to
identify qualified candidates.
