no a scroll sawholds the blades at both ends
jig saw uses a one end attachment, usually a sabre saw blade
don’t see many anymore.
historical notes: a jigsaw puzzle is named because of the home
use of this machine to hand-craft the puzzles esp. during the
depression. usually out of thin wood.
sabre saw was origionally the brand name for one model of what
was called a hand-held (sometimes portable) jig saw
