Jewelry photographer recommendations?

Hi everyone, I am wondering if any of you would care to share who
does your jewelry photography (aside from yourselves - I need to get
someone besides myself to do these) and approx. how much I should
expect to spend. If there are samples of their work on the web, if
you could let me know that as well. I need to have some professional
shots done of a new line I’m working on but have a very limited
budget, so I want to get the best quality I can afford.

Thanks for any help you can give!

Wow! Thank you so much to everyone who responded to my question
seeking a professional photographer both on and off-list. I
received about 16 different recommendations and am in the process of
checking them out. Suzanne Wade mentioned the substantial difference
between self-done and professional shots so I am excited to see the
difference a professional shoot makes in the presentation of my
jewelry!

Ralph Gabriner at ralph@gabriner.com. He’s in Manhattan and does
lots of work for jury applications. He knows to keep it simple. I’m
not up on his current prices, but think they will be average. Good
luck. Jan

I’m still playing around with my Nikon 995 (and realize I have a lot
to learn about lighting). Thankfully Photoshop helps me adjust the
images to make them more presentable. When I have an important shot- I
always take it to Robert Diamante http://www.robertdiamante.com -
he’s a professional- specializes in jewelry photography. I’ve been
happy with every photo he’s done for me. And he’s pleasant too! He’s
located here in Portland, Maine- but hey, with mail, just about
anyone is a day away. HTH, Kate Wolf in snowy Portland, Maine offering

Dear Carrie: Thx for asking your question as I have acquired such
good photography as a result.

My reason for writing tho, is to thank you for your wonderful quote
on “peace”. I wrote it down & will share w/ others. I’m a follower
of a “Move- On Organization” who’s promoting the world-wide
demonstrations against war. I’m sick, troops are being deployed
every day from Colorado. When we have men in power with weak egos,
who cannot back down in the name of peace, we go to war & I’m afraid
it’ll happen in spite of us all. Let’s all do what we can to speak
out against it though. We must.

One of my life’s lessons has been: Those who are most insecure w/
themselves, seek power positions. Not always, but too often.
