Jewelry launch party experiences

I am planning a jewelry launch party. Does anyone have any
experiences they would be willing to share with me? What has worked?
What hasn’t worked?

Invitation ideas? Promotional ideas (discounts, giveaways) etc? Most
of my jewelry is custom made. I have a line of jewelry in which
people can choose the stone they would like for their piece. I have
downloaded an app on my IPhone that takes credit cards. I manually
input the credit card they sign it with their finger on
the IPhone screen, and a copy of the receipt is emailed directly to
them. It also stores detailed of each order. I plan on
having the party on a weekday, from 6-9 PM, so that people can come
when they get off work. It will probably be in October right before
the holidays.

Colleen,

Cool apps on the IPhone! My only experiences with jewelry parties is
as a customer in a retail store. What worked on me? First,
personalization. I received an invitation in the mail followed by a
phone call from the sales person saying he would have my favorite
designer(s) at the party, have a nice matching piece for a previously
purchased piece, set aside a piece that he thought I’d like, have a
discount at the party, have a discount for established customers,
etc. Second, alcohol. They served champagne & wine, generously (as
well as shrimp and other hors d’oeuvres). Third, influencers. They
encouraged me to bring my husband, or friends who were influencers on
my jewelry purchases, or (in my husband’s case) gift buyers. My
husband looks forward to this annual jewelry party and takes me out
to dinner afterward. His Christmas gift obligation is satisfied and I
enjoy collecting jewelry that is beyond my skill level to fabricate.
Good luck on your party.

What an absolute treat Jamie! Sounds like a great way for the store
(or artist) to get repeat business too.

Jamie,

I agree with Helen, what a nice treat. Thank you for your pointers!
It gave me a glimpse into what this party could be.

I’m hoping this will be a big success in marketing myself and getting
the “C.A.P. Design” brand out. I think the culmination of the holiday
season, inviting couples, champagne, food, and an all around special
night will make it a night to remember, with them coming back for
more. That is key of course…

We will see…
