I believe that the DR is a source of amber and also larimar. Check it

I used to live in the Dominican Republic. Puerto Plata has all kinds
of amber factories, they give tours. Also look for a small, privately
owned Amber Museum…it has some fabulous examples like a gekko in
amber.
