[Jewelry Galleries] Wash DC?

Hi all, I’m traveling to Washington DC in a couple weeks to see the
Sam Maloof retrospective at the Renwick. Does anyone have any
recommendations for galleries in the area that show good jewelry, or
other contemporary crafts?

Thanks,
Bill

Hi Bill, Washington is a great city, however retailing is not one of
it’s strengths. I have been working for years with a delightful
store/gallery; I. Gorman 1 Lafayette Center 1120 20th St NW Washington

jewelry store showing some very good designers. etienne@etienne.com

Jewelerswerk is a GREAT gallery in DC. It has been there for years
and shows the most cutting edge American and Esp. European work. It
is a must. Jan Baum Baltimore, MD

Dear Bill, Saw the Maloof exhibit right after Thanksgiving. It was
wonderful. A few pieces of jewelry upstairs there. Also visited
the Textile museum @ 2320 S Street, NW, there in DC and was
fortunate enough to see Arlene Fisch’s ( Textile Techniques in Metal)
exhibit. It is scheduled to run through Jan. 13, which is this Sun.
Maybe you’re there and you are one to pick up your e-mail. Don’t
miss it. Who knows, sometimes exhibits go longer than scheduled, so
give it a try. The phone # is 202-667-0441.

I was going to suggest this, Jan, but when I looked for more details
online couldn’t see any search engine references to it anywhere.

Excellent gallery. Even has some New Zealand work there!
