Jewelry Equipment Auction

I noticed an ad in the Los Angeles Times this morning for a jewelry
equipment auction in Mount Vernon, New York on July 31 (too bad for
me!) . The info website is http://www.kosterindustries.com - look
under the Michael Anthony Company surplus sale. Just thought those
in the East might be interested - the pics show lots of rolling mills! JoAnn Dean

Geez, what an education into the manufacture of jewelry! If you make
jewelry the ‘old fashion way’…by hand and and a
flexshaft,…looking at all that machinery makes me proud to be old
fashion. Not that old yet tho! Every jeweler should look at this
site…as I said a real education. Thomas

For those of us who have a fascination with equipment - either
shopping or window shopping, or that sort of learning that is “Gee,
there’s things like that in the world” - E-bay has a thriving
machine-tool trade. Only a certain portion is jewelry-specific, but
there is everything (and links) from steel rules to Million dollar
machining centers. Start at Industrial Supplies, or search. I got a
7" Speedway lathe for $299 + $50 ship (Chinese, but new), that is
just fine, for the money - that’s an on-going deal, by the way.
