For the last 4 years I’ve attended the Bench Jewelers Conference &
Expo and have entered their design contest. Although I’ve never won,
I’ve dreamed of winning the Jewelers Choice Award and having my
jewelry pictured on the cover of Bench Magazine.
I just now received the August issue of JCK magazine and see that
they are starting their own design competition and copying the name
from Bench Media’s very successful design competition.
I’m shocked to see that such a prestigious magazine as JCK would
stoop so low that they would copy someone else’s design competition.
In announcing the Jewelers Choice Awards, JCK Publisher Mark Smelzer
states, “We’ve recently come upon an idea”. Yes Mark, we know where
you came upon this idea.
