I do have a question. I am trying to repair
an antique watch bracelet that is 12k gold filled. I need to solder
a small piece onto one of the links and am using 14k for lack of any
other available material. Does anyone have any suggestions on which
solder to use? I’ve neverworked with gold filled before. Any
warnings? Thanks!
*Sharon 14k gold solder is probabally ok its very close in
colour. Use as little as poss and use an easy as opposed to medium
solder rolled gold can be treated like solid but dont file, and
dont sand to much. Nice to see someone attempting to repair
properly. In New Zealand we see lots of pieces that have been
