I am a 27 year old graduate student at Virginia Tech, where I am
working on a PhD in materials Science. I am originally from
Whittier, North Carolina, which is in the far western portion of
the state near the Great Smokey Mts. National Park. I have been
collecting rocks and gems for about 15 years, and making jewelry
for about 8. Corrently everything I make is from silver,
because I can’t afford to work in gold. Eventualy, I would like
to either get into the business of manufacturing jewelry for the
wholesale market, or opening a retail store.
