I AM 46 YEAR OLD JEWELER SCULPTURER WHO CONSIDERS JEWELRY
WEARABLE SCULPTURE. SOME OTHE OLDEST THINGS WE HAVE ARE PERSONAL
ORIEMENTS. EVEN THOUGH WE CANNOT KNOW THERE RELIGIOUS OR CULTURAL
SIGNIFIGANCE, THEY ARE STILL A MEANS OF IMMORTALITY FOR THE
CRAFTSMAN WHO CREATED THEM. EVEN THOUGH WE CANNOT BE SURE OF THE
ORIGINAL CRITERIA BY WHICH THEY WERE JUDGED THERE IS STILL A
CONNECTION ACROSS TIME IN THAT WE CAN APPRECIATE THE OBJECTS
INTRINSIC BEAUTY NO MATTER WHAT CURRENT TRNDS DICTATE. THIS INNER
BEAUTY IS A MEANS OF COMMUNICATION ACROSS THE AGES. THIS
FASCINATES ME.

MY JEWELRY TENDS TOWARDS CONSTRUCTION RATHER THAN CASTING WITH
EMPHASIS ON COLD CONNECTIONS. I TRY TO USE THE MATERIALS
INTRINSIC PROPERTIES TO HOLD THE PEICE TOGETHER. THE FLOWING
LINES AND SHAPES INHERENT TO ART DECO HAVE LEFT THERE IMPRESSION
ON ME INFLUENCING MY WORK.

I FIND INSPIRATION FROM TIFFANY, FABREGE, PICASO, MIRO, M.C.
ESCHER, AND FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT. THIS IS MY FIRST EXPIRENCE WITH
ANTHING LIKE THIS AND THEREFORE HAVE NO CLUE AS TO WHAT WAS
EXPECTED OR TO WEAR THIS WILL LEAD. BUT AS THE PROVERB SAYS: LIFE
IS A JOURNEY, NOT A DESTINATION.

Hiya Michael, welcome to Orchid. You are obviously a man after
my own heart. I, too, am interested in cold connections and our
muse list is almost identical. Looking forward to talking with
you.

Welcome to the Orchid forum, Michael. Deco and Bahaus are
classic 20th century design.
