Mary Edwards and Peter Solomon Owners and operators of Precious
Metal Arts; An open door jewelry studio/workshop offering formal
classes in metalsmithing, stone setting, and wax carving as well as
introductory and advanced classes in Pure Silver Clay. Students can
register for metal classes in individual segments or in a series.
Wax carving techniques are offered at a beginning and intermediate
level. Pure Silver Clay classes are taught several times weekly in
two hour segments, and clay open lab is available Tuesday through
Sunday.
Peter was a wax and jewelry manufacturing instructor at the
Gemological Institute of America for seven years, and has 20 years
of industry experiance. Mary has fifteen years experience as a
jewelry designer and manufacturer. The studio offers rental access
to fully equipped jewelry benches to students who have completed the
basic technique courses or who can show competence. In addition to
Pure Silver Clay classes, the studio offers clay for purchase, open
lab, and firing and polishing of the clay pieces.
The studio is constantly evolving to accomodate the wishes of the

Custom classes and group bookings are available. The studio is also
available for rent to groups wishing to hold “hands on” workshops
or seminars for groups of 12 at jewelry benches and up to 22 for
table seating.
