My name is Jim Papuga. My wife, Maureen, and I operate a small
retail jewelry business in southern New Hampshire. We provide
repair and custom design services, primarily in 14K. We opened our
business 4 years ago as a side business. We recently retired
from the computer repair industry, so we plan to now devote more
time to our jewelry business.

My jewelry skills, self taught with the aid of many books and
some videos, are still pretty rough. I still break and melt
more things than I’d like to admit (does that ever go away?). I
hope to gain some valuable tips from this forum and maybe down
the line be able to make some contributions.

I do have a question to throw out. I noticed in Rio Grande’s new
catalog a series of video training tapes entitled “The Complete
Repair Jeweler” by Friedman and Macy. Does anybody know anything
about these tapes? Also, any opinion on the Revere series would
be appreciated.

I look forward to future discussions.

Jim

This is a reintroduction, as we have recently relocated ourselves
and our business from New Hampshire to Hudson, Florida. We
provide repairs, design and fabrication primarily in 14k. We
have been involved in jewelry for 5 years, after 25 years in the
computer service industry. We look forward to having more time
to devote to our jewelry business and the exchange
opportunities offered by this forum.
