Introducing - Ian LeClair

Hello, my name is Ian LeClair, and I am a senior at Sunapee
Middle High School. As part of my graduation requirements, I
have to do a 60-hour “senior project” about a topic of interest.
I chose jewelry and fine-metalworking, hoping to learn something
about the field. I have virtually no experience, but I’m willing
and eager to learn, and I hope to gather some useful infor- mation
from this discussion group. Thank you.

Ian,

My name is Sharon and I’m a goldsmith in Exeter, NH (seacoast
area). You’re a bit far from any of the locations, but if you
can contact the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen (I know there’s
one in Hanover, maybe Keene and Concord) they can probably turn
you on to someone local who can give you help on your project.
I’m quite far, but if you can do a day trip down to Stratham,
which is where my store is, I’d be glad to help. You can e-mail
me at austones@ultranet.com for further info.

Good luck, Sharon

Ian:

I started working metal in High School and am still doing it 25
years later. There is only one way to get experience and it
sounds like you are on your way. Lots of luck and happy metal
working. There have been some great threads on this list.
