I am a craftsperson living in a bush village in Alaska near the
Arctic Circle. My jewelry is centered around jade and ancient
mammoth ivory (which are local materials). I also am a beginning
beader, and like to incorporate lapidary and beadwork techniques.
Some local elders (this is an Inupiat Eskimo community) are sharing
their skin-sewing knowledge with me and my jewelry is becoming more
multi-media.
