I’m a 14th generation jeweler, having my family tree traced back
about 500 years. Strated learning bench work at the age of ten in
my fathers wholesale manufacturing facility. I started my
company, Jewelry Artisans almost 24 years ago. Last year we did
1.6 million ins ales, 50% of that from the bench. I have devised
a pricing system for my store for repairs and custom work that
works on a 2-3 time markup on the finidng and a 4 time markup on
the jeweler. I have a 300 page pricing guide that I designed for
the sales staff so they could handle the sale by themselves.
