I had the opportunity to visit the North Bennet Street School Jewelry
program as an Occupational Specialist for a national accreditation
organization this morning and I wanted to let the people on Orchid
know some of my thoughts. In the past I have hired a number of people
from their program and always found them well prepared with a good
background. Having now seen the school for the first time I would
like to let people know how impressed I was with their facilities,
faculty and educational structure. For any newbies out there thinking
about getting serious in the business and needing to develop the core
skills necessary for this field, I think you should absolutely
consider attending this school. The education you receive will be far
better than any “art” school education (at least of those programs
that I know about) and should leave anyone who is interested in
jewelry making with a solid ability to either work in the trade or
head out on their own.
